Cadence — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 August 2026 · Ver en español

Cadence is local-first. Your routine — the products on your shelf, your schedule, your checklist, your skin and hair profile — is stored on your device and is never uploaded to us or to anyone else. There is no account and no login.

We never collect: product names, brands, or any text you type into the app. No photos. No face scans. No ingredient scanning. No advertising identifiers. Nothing is used for advertising or cross-app tracking, and nothing is sold.

What stays on your device

All of the following is written to a database on your phone and never leaves it:

Uninstalling Cadence deletes all of it. We keep no copy, because we never received one.

What we collect

On Android only, and only in versions downloaded from the Play Store. Cadence uses two Google Firebase services to find crashes and understand which features get used. Collection is switched off entirely in development builds.

Crash diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics)

When the app crashes, we receive a report containing the technical stack trace, your device model, operating system version, and app version, along with a Firebase installation identifier. It contains none of your routine data.

Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)

We record a small, fixed set of events so we can see which parts of the app are used:

EventWhat it contains
Screen viewsA fixed slug for the tab you opened — "today", "week", "shelf", "settings"
Onboarding completedNothing beyond the fact that it happened
Product added / updated / removedThe category only, such as "retinoid" or "shampoo", plus whether you set a custom schedule. Never the product's name or brand.
Suggestion appliedThe category the suggestion was for

Firebase also records standard events such as first open and session start, and assigns an app instance identifier so repeat sessions from one install can be counted once.

On iOS

The iOS version of Cadence collects nothing at all. Neither Crashlytics nor Analytics is active on iOS, so no crash or usage data leaves your device.

Who processes this data

Crash and usage data is processed by Google as part of Firebase, on our behalf. It is not shared with any other third party, not sold, and not used to build advertising profiles. It is not linked to your identity — we have no account system, so we have no identity to link it to.

Data is retained for the periods configured in our Firebase project and is then deleted by Google automatically.

Notifications

If you enable the evening reminder, Cadence schedules it locally on your device. Reminders are not sent from a server, and no notification data is transmitted anywhere.

Your choices

Children

Cadence is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
